but of course i am an aesthete before all other things
italy is delightful i would invite you to join me when i am there in july but i would be unable to resist performing all manner of unspeakable acts upon your person
and i would hate for anyone to think of me as anything but the consummate gentleman
though my dahlin I must admit that the idea will ruin me for all future snow fields as it is impossible for me to find them anything but sorely lacking without your company
*soft sigh*
I have been meaning to head down your way for some time actually there are many friends and vineyards [old friends of a particularly delightful variety] which I really must visit
of course I was thinking I would go during your summer and escape my usual wintertime blues [snow and Italian motorcycles] [do not well mix]
of course
*satiated smile*
as I am in your hemisphere at the moment winter is fast approaching [which may be why] [i am fleeing to spain next week] not that one would notice here in Rio
I was wondering just the other day how you were doing?
my tuesday has been delightful and things are rather well excluding my spanish which while sufficient to decipher your message is dreadful shape.
I would adore your assistance in helping me learn spanish
at the moment i find that lack of any vocabulary to speak of is my greatest difficulty.
I am at a level of fluency which I call two questions
I can ask for what I want or tell someone where I need to go If they ask me a question I can understand an answer it and reply but if they ask a second question i get into trouble
*smiles*
it is joyous to hear from you my dear Marisol and do drop me a line and tell me all about your life these days
i took 3 1/2 yrs of french (3 highschool, 1/2 college) and still can't speak it for beans. the only good reason i've ever been given for learning french (other than "learn a language to graduate") is to be able to read the little prince properly
heh, i'm glad my laziness and spurts of obsessive catching up entertain you
translations are never the same. some are great works of art in their own right, but if the thoughts of a translation (and not just the writing) appeal, it could be worth one's while to read the original to get the subtleties which are lost or replaced in translation. seems to me, anyway. i would very much like to read michael ende's original words (he's best known for the neverending story) but i fear i'll have to wait until we have matrix-style learning and i can plug german into my skull.
