Date: 2002-06-17 11:59 pm (UTC)in the (admittedly very small) bit of paradise lost i have read up to now, i find it striking that, even in a poem written by a christian who was a big fan of god and all, god comes off like a jerk and the devil is much more sympathetic

Date: 2002-06-18 12:58 am (UTC)the class will be looking at his other poems as well, which - and again, i am basing this on very little - i do not enjoy nearly as much. his inspiration seemed to be running away with him in paradise lost, also the subject matter of satan and god interest me a good deal more than some dead english guy reflecting on his childhood
