Brilliance in Government
Sep. 11th, 2003 03:46 pmI got a new tag for my license plate recently
and
when I was putting it on
I noticed something
on the bottom of the tag
was printed my license plate number
my first thought was wow
that is a simple and brilliant solution
now it wont do you any good to steal
someone else's tag
cause the license plate wont match
which is I am sure exactly what
the brilliant minds in government thought as well
unfortunately
unlike those so called brilliant minds
my brain was unable to avoid
the massive brick wall
that such logic was heading at unchecked speed
and
boom
it dawned on me just how incredibly stupid
the idea actually is
it becomes the perfect example of government ineptitude
by focusing on solutions which appear good
which appear to help the situation
but in reality
do absolutely nothing
why?
where does the logic fail in this so that it becomes entirely irrelevant?
The problem with printing the license number on the tags
is that it is so small as to be unreadable by an officer
unless he has already pulled over the vehicle
however if he has already done so
then the first things he will have in his hand
is the operators license, insurance & and [expired] registration
because if you stole a tag it was to avoid renewing your registration
so you are busted not only for an expired registration
but also for theft of the sticker
that the license number is printed on it
play zero part in the equation
which means that our tax dollars were spent
designing and deploying a system
to achieve that entirely useless aim.
only in our current time and space
a world of consumerist overkill
could we develop the stealth moron
and arm them with this
this imost insiduous form of stupidity
But look around you
stupid people are breeding
and the rest of us
are taking this half ass form of thought
loading our rifles with it
and blowing their brains to kingdom come
simply out of convience and laziness
