Life could be worse

A joyous ride
on a beautiful day
on a beautiful bike
returning to work
which isn't so beautiful
from a delightful lunch
with a beautiful lass

in fact
it was
such a beautiful day
I sent the maid home early

but anyway
that
wasn't what
I came here to tell you

I returned to the office
to find
an earnest looking fellow
manning an espresso cart
in
my
office

not my office building
nor the floor which my office is on

but
inside
my
actual office

I shrugged
ordered
a
raspberry
Italian soda
(no cream of course)
selected a
peanut butter
cookie
a most yummy one
in fact

and returned
to my daily
course of work.
