an intervention by friends and coworkers

yesterday
an
intervention
was performed
and yes
yours truely
was
the
subject

I was
working
and
a bit hectic at
that
when
several of
my co-workers
or clients
I guess is more
accurate
took me aside
and
said

"we need
to talk
we have all
decided that
an intervention
is necessary"

I
balked
of course
and
asked
what crack they
were smoking

they
enmass
circled me
and continued

"its about your
habit
your
chocolate milk
habit
we are
very concerned"

I laughed
of course

you see
the part of the
lab I have been
working the
last few weeks
is sans
trash can
and combined
with the fact
that I am
a lazy ass
or is it
that I always
have more important
things to do

I have not
disposed of
my various
beverage containers
the majority of which
are chocolate milk
as I generally
drink my sodas
in another part of
the lab
(don't ask)
so
what they saw
was
twenty or so
empty
chocolate milk
cartons

and were
apparently
concerned

of course
those were
accumilated
over several
weeks
so
they neednt
worry
but
anyway

A grand night in

mmm
well
tonight we
are staying in
together
and

in preparation
we vent
grocery schupping

ve purchased

a delightful cut of beef
two ears of vibrant white corn
two bolstering baker's potatoes
a hand full of delicate mushrooms
a gleaming red onion
a tasty vinaigrette
fruit infused water
lots of tasty sesame treats
butter
yummy glass bottle milk
pineapple juice (cause I am sensitive to my love)
chocolate creme filled oreos
cause it was the answer
to a lifetime of her prayers

and

tonight
I am to
cook for us
a feast
albeit a
simple one

To begin
we shall eat
a fresh and
invigorating
spinach salad
with red onion
feta cheese crumbles
and
mushrooms

the main course
Bourbon marinated steak
served with
baked potato and
roasted white corn

and for
dessert
sorbet for me
and most likely
chocolate creme filled oreos for her
or
anything else her little heart
desires

I have yet to decide
which wine I will serve
I am leaning towards
a 1997 Jacob's Creek Cab
it is an old vine cab
and rather oaken
but I haven't come
to a final decision

so
with that my friends
I will whisk
myself away
to cook and love
for and of
my darling
