I want to clarify something

I am
a schmuck

no better
no worse
than any
other schmuck

I may
have my moments
which swing
either way
(better or worse)
but generally
I swing along
the middle line

which
to me
is what makes
her
all the more
amazing

she didn't wait
until she was
really pissed
or react with
snide comments
and other passive aggressive
behavior

she got my attention
and informed me
what I was doing wrong
and what she expected
from me

this allowed me
to respond to her needs
(which is what I want to do)
and
things didn't even need to
reach the level of an argument

Sometimes
I may be a prince
and others
I may be schmuck

I am simple a man
and that's part of the bargain

I am not going
to fake my life
to always appear the
prince

but I will
make amends
when I have
been the schmuck
