my internet connection
has an inactivity timer
in order to disconnect
idle users
unlike AOL's this is designed
to actually track packets
and see if data is
being transmitted
like AOL's it doesn't work
I can leave my phone
dialed in all day long
and when I come home
it will still be connected
but
without fail
within 5 minutes
of me actually using
the net
it will disconnect me
it really pisses me off
because I then have to
walk over to my proxy server
and reestablish the connection
Of course
if I rebuilt my proxy server
as a win2k box
as I have been meaning to
for months
this wouldn't be a problem
