Spent an hour

[plural]

talking with my parents. they are in San Jose, Costa Rica
where they have been working on a project to monitor
the breeding/nesting habits of sea turtles

my mother as always chided me on getting sick
it is her firm belief that getting sick
is an option

they sound filled with more joy and peace
than i can ever remember

it is a good thing

i just blew my nose and my ear
is hissing like a punctured tire

there it popped with a
strange sucking noise

just thought i would share that

oh and I fully endorse
Kleenex "ColdCare" Tissues
my nose feels much better
than when I was using standard tissues*

my brother is going through
some very hard times right now
and while we have never agreed on anything nor
gotten along well
it saddens me greatly

well for now I am off to work
I have a bit to catch up on due to my illness
and with any luck I can be in a few hours time with friends
delighting in their companionship over dinner

my aunt would do that on occasion. i've always gotten ill very easily. and often times attitude did help, and simply willing myself not to get sick kept me from getting sick. but sometimes there's just no helping it, and i'd have to point out that chastizing me for getting sick wasn't going to help me get better. it didn't stop her any. i think she thought maybe that would make me get better. or have the incentive to do so. who knows.
