The joy of the internet

I like to think of myself as a halfway decent son
but I must confess
I am horrible at remembering things like mothers day
[or fathers day, or most of such days]

Birthdays, Anniversaries
those I am good at
I think because they relate to an individual

personally, I dislike those other days
actually I dislike birthdays too
but they at least make more sense to me

for the most part
I have no clue when such days are scheduled
or if I do, like valentines day
they can easily come and go with my realizing it
because I for the most part function on numbered days
and pay little attention the calendar

but luckily
I have the website that ships flowers
and they bug me with emails for all their "important" sales dates
so today
I took a moment and sent my mother
a bouquet of lillies for mothers day

feel pretty good about it too

well that was one of the good things about working at a florist...i always knew when every holiday was, who died, who got pregnant/had a baby, who was cheating on who....

Do you still observe all the High Holidays, and all the minor ones as well? Because if you do, that's what's taking up all that brain space that leaves no room for all this parents, secretaries, grandparents, etc, junk. ;-) I am always amazed by my Jewish friends who every week seem to be required at a relative's house for some major religious occasion, ha ha.

Nah, I suck at those too

of course there atleast I have a better excuse
because they move around in the gregorian calendar
nearly all of us have to consult a calendar to know when they are

luckily my mother calls me to let me know when they are coming up.

and yeah, we have a lot of hollidays, specially in the fall
