Ups and Downs
Jan. 17th, 2005 10:39 amwell
so
the ski hill is closed for the day
with high winds at the summit
and the expected ice storm this afternoon
they decided to close it rather than risk injury
both on the slopes and in transit to them
so that sucks
but
between you me and god
let me say this very clearly
if it rains tonight
and ruins the nine inches of beautiful virgin powder
which has fallen on the hill since last night
I'm gonna step upstairs and whup the mans ass
cause that dog aint gonna hunt
on the bright side
I was acquainted with what is without question
man's greatest invention
the snow blower
yep
I was out attempting to shovel my driveway this morning
or more accurately the end of my driveway
where the city snowplow had piled four feet of snow
and getting absolutely now where
when my glorious and munificent neighbor
[a retired doctor]
invited me to save myself the effort
and borrow his snow blower
I did the driveway and the front walk in about ten minutes
beautiful stuff
and
I'll be able to save twenty bucks every time it snows
cause I wont need to have someone plow the drive
I think now I'll have to invite him and his wife over for dinner
to express my appreciation
not to mention buy a tank or two of gas over the winter
but yeah
snow blowers rock my socks
I highly recommend you get one
even if you don't live in a place with snow
well
I'm going to do some photo work
then probably some dishes if I can motivate myself
before heading off to school
