a wonderful life
a yarn
spun by two
into one
which
I thought I would
share with the
rest of you

the holes
in our hearts
glow
with their light
softly
secretly
open the gates
let light flood
consciouness
mesmerized
gone
envision
the shadowy
outline
of a womans form
backlit
flowing fabrics
dancing along her skin
lips sealed
eyes closed
calling
crying out
in silent screams
for whom?

her pursed lips
and clenched eyes
she cries for adam and eve.
for
lost memories of ecstasy.
open the gates she prays.
let me enter that garden again.
she might forget the snake
she might forget the tree
but she can never forget
good and evil.

if only
my blood
would flow
to the
center of
this earth
and wash
our souls
of original sin
wash our mind
of shame
of modesty
before our lord
to forget
is to repeat
if the gates
will not open
then
my dear
then maybe
just perhaps

mother crying screaming
my baby, my baby.
sometimes practice
doesn't make perfect.
sometimes perfect has no practice.
if the gates
will not open
then
my dear
we shall wait
polishing our apples
outside
pointing out cloud shapes
and speaking
good and evil.
that we can't obtain
inside those gates.
and from the branch hanging down over the gate

a leave falls
teasing us
by imitation
with it's
and by extention
our rejection
faustian pacts
and angelic worship
replace not
the simple warmth
of proximity
perfection is of
humanity
and on the
seventh day
in a sacrifice
of his own flesh
and bone
man made god
in his own image
and god
was perfect

reaching up towards the sky
grasping the leaf effortlessly
we take that bit of the forbidden tree
trace it with our fingertips
the bit of eden
tucked away
in our pocketbooks and purses
to the city of angels
we go.
content
with the perfection.
