Thinking out loud
May. 30th, 2004 05:46 pmso
I have been working on ideas for the house
and in looking at paint samples and whatnot
the idea of whitewashing the cabinets in the kitchen occured to me.

now generally I am against painting over wood (excluding trim of course)
but I think it might help bring the kitchen back into line with the overall style of the house
thoughts?

Date: 2004-05-30 07:55 pm (UTC)I have a few weeks to make any modifications to the house between when we close and when I have to be moved in and ready for fall term. (and so not really able to focus on renovations)
I am focusing on two areas, removing the hideous wallpapers and repaiting, and making energy efficient upgrades throughout the house. So while structural modifications to the kitchen are outside of the scope of what I am thinking for this project, something like whitewashing or staining the wood would be easy to include.
Just need to figure out what exactly would work best in such a situation
