Norman Rockwell eat your heart out

glancing out my window
I see
a group of children
playing stickball
in the cul de sac

I think often
we forget
what it was like
to be a child

and our lives
are poorer for it

sometimes I think maybe
those that were children
grew up to be what they
were when they grew up
(I do not feel comfortable
with the word adult?)
and those that were not
even children still
are not something that..is.
hmm. you know what I mean! (oy. do you?)

i understand what you mean...my friend brooke was 20 years old when we were 8...and now that she is 20 she acts like she's 41...she was never a kid, she was always something else. *i follow you*

I have struggled with trying to feel like an 'adult' a grown up. I do not even feel I look like one. (I have pics in the start of my journal somewhere). But I have two kids, a great guy, and I do not feel or look like the women I see as women. I look young. I am 23, and I feel I'll never look older. It sucks. I do not even feel old. I am not taken seriously at times because of how I look. Though I do get hit on by guys, but hate it because I am with someone. I know they do not know this, it just personally annoying, lol.

It is late I ramble. I just had to comment that I do recall feeling as a child, and there were crappy times, but I do like recalling the good times. The play. I miss it. I think this is why I like kids. They let you play with them in their games without looking stupid.

Well there's that way of things. But it also feels that when I was 7 I had the ability to be 17 as well. And now that I'm 17 I can always still revert back to 7 (and quite often do because its so much fun! laaa)
