New study shows media biased against truth

*sigh*

Reporter caught just making stuff up again... Again

I think we have reached a point where media is entirely useless or at the very least entirely untrustworthy.

Sure before we had extremist press on the right or left, blatantly making shit up and twisting facts to persue their own agenda, and the mainstream press just reprinting press releases word for word without checking any facts, or even worse reporting on other news agencies stories without doing any added fact checking, so that one poorly written/researched peice can become nation rumor without ever having been subjected to the most cursory examination for truth.

But this is simply too much, I mean call me old fashioned but I expect reporters to at least see the things they lie about. Twice in the past year major journelists have gotten busted flat out making shit up. I suppose its what you get when there are no jobs for all those creative writing majors.

I have no sympathy for em, its not like being a reporter is the most difficult of jobs, sure it may not be as easy as being a tv anchor and just reading teleprompters, but really all they have to do is go places and tell what they saw, or hell, even just call people in those places and write down what those people saw.

But apparently that is too much like actually work

Ah, and to top it off he was nominated FIVE TIMES for the Pullitzer. I guess that does not have much meaning left either.

Maybe it's lack of jobs for creative writing majors... kind of like lawyers taking up obesity lawsuits.

They should go to the places themselves. I don't suppose asking people and taking statements for granted is too "journalistically integrious" so to say. I've also noticed that the stations are becoming very carbon copy. How boring. Soon I'll have to start the browsing with the obituary.

I dont blame the pullitzers
granted he should have been nominated
for something in creative writing

but I can empathize with them
I mean
of course he would have great stories
it is easy to write great stories
when they dont have to be true

Too much freedom in the job.
It's easy to build buildings when they don't have to stay up, but architects can't do that...
