Divination of delectables
Nov. 14th, 2003 09:12 pmSpoke with
that particular young woman
this evening
for an hour or so
while I prepared my dinner
which tonight
was a bourbon marinated
highland beef rib steak
the cow in question
was a particularly sweet thing
named bessie
who I did not have the pleasure of meeting
but I heard many good things about
and I did find
to be extremely tasty
ok
I must confess
her
name was not bessie
I cant recall what it was
but
something like that
I have to admit there is a certain satisfaction
received from knowing where your food came from
down to literally the animal
highland cattle
are particularly amazing beasts
horns wide enough
to put Texas longhorns to shame
and a shaggy haired coat
sort of like a yak
but a delicious meat
fairly comparable to Kobe beef
in this particular case
I had dinner at the ranch
which "bessie" came from last night
and
met several of the other members of the herd
free range, organic beef
damn tasty anyway
so to accompany such a fine piece of beef
I whipped up a batch of roasted potatoes
tossed in a mixture of basil and garlic infused olive oils
and Romano cheese
then I pan seared
an assortment of yellow. orange, red and green peppers
with a little red onion tossed in for effect
garnish with a sliced naval orange
and
accompany with a salad
of baby leaf spinach
olives, red onion and feta
in a balsamic vinaigrette dressing
and one cannot forget
the peasant sourdough bread
or
the always essential
1999 Pinot Noir from my cellar
Though I must admit I prefer the Padthaway Vineyards vintages
which predate their current association with Lindemans
this particular vintage
is still quite exceptional
however

anyway
I am going to head for a lil cuzzi time
in order
to that this bottle of wine
does not go to waste
then
it is out for the evening
I have something vaguely resembling at date
which I am almost not looking forward too
or
at least would be highly skeptical of
were it more a date sort of thing
don't get me wrong
she is attractive in figure and face
reasonably amusing
especially considering the
bimbos I generally seem to meet
and this is less technically a date
than an agreement for a less than happenstance meeting
like
hey
you going to such and such on Friday?
yeah
kewl me too
I will see you there
sort of thing
anyway
I am going to do a couple of things
slip into the cuzzi
with my wine
and
relax
listening to the melodies
of
Leonard Cohen
specifically the "ten new songs" album
which
I adore
love to you all
my precious few

Date: 2003-11-15 12:26 am (UTC)I hope one day you can send us pictures of the ranch or farm. As specific as possible without revealing any super secret coordinates. From all your talking about jacuzis, I get the feeling it may have tourist facilities? Anyway, I'm curious! What do you think of the land, the area? It's got to be a hell of a shift from your previous location, no?
