Ok folks

I realize all of this maybe a little premature
as Florida hasn't finalized yet

I want to be ready to roar out of the gates
with this movement immediately
should it become necessary

by necessary I mean that a situation should develop
where the popular vote of the nation is countermanded
by the electoral votes, not that Gore loses

Basically the way I see progressing
is this:

I am in the process of registering a website/domain
dedicated to this concept

I will be meeting with my attorneys as soon as it can be arranged
to create a non-profit organization to be our flag, and create an account with a bank in the name of this organization

(also to cover my ass and make sure this doesn't end up getting me arrested)

Monies will be needed to cover the legal defense and cost/fees or judgements
against any Electors who we can sway and pay for the expenses related to
this effort (domain registration, webhosting, DNS listing etc)

I have already secured pledges of donations from several individuals
and will make up any shortfalls personally.

I will be drafting a statement of purpose
for the organization and a press release to that effect
anyone who has contacts within the media or public relations firms
please contact me to see how we can get more publicity

I want to be completely ready for this to move within 48 hours

until then it will be a word of mouth action
getting people ready and excited about the idea

An Important note on approach

The People of this nation, voted by a margin of approximately 200,000 votes
to elect one of the candidate to the office of President, 1000 people in Florida should not
be able to counteract the votes of the nation.

This is not about finding a way to
sneak Gore into office

This is about the overall rights of the people of this nation to have their votes counted and mean something, and not letting a few people, by chosen only by circumstance, override the wishes of the nation as a whole.

My Friend
a few points
first of all
it is in now way circumventing the Constitution
In fact only 20 states require that the electors vote
the same way that their states does.

Secondly Gore is not my favorite person
but I have a distinct issue
with the entire election hinging
on such few people
especially when
a much much larger amount of people
voted for Gore

I have a real problem
with any system
that allows one candidate
to get the majority of the votes
from the citizens
and lose to a candidate who
obtained less votes

My problem is with the schizm between the Popular Vote
and the Electoral Vote.

The Electoral system
was designed in a time
where rapid communication was not possible
the framers of the constitution created this system
quite frankly because they did not trust
the average voter to be able to get
enough information to make a good decision

The Electoral College was "designed" to override
the popular election when the Electoral College
felt that the candidate who recieved
the greatest number of votes was unfit.

This system is obviously dated
and anachronistic

This election makes this glaringly obvious

as the general public
has the ability to garner a large
amount of information about the candidates
in short order.

the framers intended that
the electoral college
would vote contrary to the popular vote
when their conscience dictated it to be necessary

My position is that it is now necessary for
the electoral college to vote contrary
to their states results

I understand you feel differently and respect your opinion

Sincerely
