Well take a look at this
no it isnt 9/11 related
it is american dumb ass public related
the scary fucking thing

and more name recognition that Jesus
and thats just the rhetoric
when you look at the numbers it gets even scarier
American voters

We have a population of 278 million people
205 million of which are eligible to vote
Unfortunately only 156 Million of those actually registered to vote
and of those 156 million that registered
only a 105 million actually voted
that means that fifty million people could not scrape their asses
off the couch to go what maybe four blocks to their local polling station?
no these arent those people who dont vote on principle
such people wouldnt bother to register either
so basically when you break it down
51% of our population voted
now if we didnt give women the right to vote
then that would be a respectable number
but
we did and it is sucks [the number, not the right]
hell we can barely get two/thirds of the people who register to vote
to actually bother doing it
where am I going with this
you are probably thinking
well
We know that a hundred million americans voted
so I ask you
how many watched survivor?
if you total them up
how many watch reality shows?
Let me tell you
For the 2002 season
[Fall 01- Spring 02]
Survivor - 20 million americans
Fear factor - 14 million Americans
Who wants to be a millionaire - 20 million Americans
The Weakest Link = 19 million americans
Add it all up and you get 74 Million American watching dumb fucking reality shows
and thats just the big ones
we arent counting all the piddly ones
now
there are a couple of problems with the data I have presented
which I will address for you now
Survivor plays on thurdays night and not against another reality show
so its viewers could be counted twice watching survivor and another show
You are correct, however Fear Factor, Millionaire, and Weakest Link were all on at the same time on the same night
which means at 8pm on Mondays 53 million americans were watching on of those three shows
Also you have to consider that Survivor was competing against the all around number one show in television
for its time slot on thursday which was Friends, if the people who watched mondays show were all duplicated in survivor
it would have beaten the shit out of Friends.
Some of the viewers may be under eighteen or ineligable to vote
You are correct, in actuality this data measures US households not individuals
so I figure that somes houses that have kids watching this stuff alone
and others have a couple of adults in them watching together
I consider both issues to basically come out in the wash
and while the figures we have arent exact
they are good enough for my purposes
so with 74 million american who watch this type of show
you figure it is elimination style

at the end
people have to choose between two candidates
whether they have a vote or not everyone will select their favorite
lets say 36 million people prefer the winning candidate
and 34 million people prefer the losing candidate
and four million of you dumb fucking tards
are pouting cause the guy you had the hots for didnt make it to the last round

has huge name recognition and publicity points
probably has a shit load of cash to run with

they electoral college
