Blackouts and other madness

[plural]

So we are still without power
the people across the street
got power back for most of yesterday
only to lose it again last night
the power company expects
it will not be until friday before
the power is restored.

I found a kinkos last night
which got me a little internet time
mostly used to look up some needed directions
and make some insipid commentary
before they closed and
I had to split

so
several things I had intended to
do
didnt get done

today has been a fairly crazy game
of phone tag between my parents
my younger sister and her school
as we tried to determine
if they were going to evacuate the school
and what to do with her
as they have been without power
since thursday with no sign
of power imminent

as it looks now
they are pretty confident that
they will get the generators they need
to keep the school open
but the final decision wont be made
for a couple more hours

I am driving up to NYC tonight
with the ever lovely mascaria
to keep me company
and
I am looking forward to a nice
five hour stint of road head
[evil cackle grin smirk]
[yes that was a joke]

the lil sis is thrilled to experience
little things like AC and cold sodas
after four days without power

as yall could expect
I am way behind on both journal reading
and responding to emails
and probably will remain so
for the foreseeable future

but
I have a half gallon of bourbon
so
I really dont mind
*grin*

And abruptly changeing tack again:

1) our power came back on around noon today.
2) Heather can't find her keys to the beetle, and before we drop $100 on another volkswagon key I thought I'd ask if you may have snagged them by accident, or put them in a place that is completely not obvious to us.
