i found it rather enjoyable... james spader is always interesting to watch, and plays excellent characters. physically he is not that attractive to me, but personality wise, he always makes that reach whomever he is playing. i liked maggie gyllenhaal too. of course the ideas/plot was interesting ... after watching the movie i had to go read the story upon it was (ever so loosely) based and adapted from. the story is good too but completely different in end and message.
I thought the ending was the weakest bit in the movie. Now I'll have to go find the book. Unless you care to enlighten me on how the book ended (please please).
I'll pipe in. It's from Bad Behavior and it's a short story. Basically, there were maybe two scenes from it that made it into the movie. I won't completely ruin the ending, but they changed her past quite a bit, and turned it into more of a romantic relationship than it was. They never have sex in the short story.
It's a great barometer of people as well. Some people look sort of shocked/horrified through most of it, I spent most of the movie saying "Awww, that's so cute".
