Mar. 5th, 2003 05:07 pmCarlisle has been acting weird since his brother disappeared
so
I decided to get him another cat to keep him company etc
I went down to the shelter to pick out a cat
my criteria is female, young, and with a good demeanor
[preferably already spaded as well]
I figure that will minimize the conflict between the cats
and ease the whole adjustment period
well I found a good match for what I was looking for
but noticed that she had some eye drainage going on
so I asked about it.
they didn't have a clue so they called a vet to come look at her
the vet took her off to look at her and I waited around
the response that came back was that she was sick
prolly had an infection related to her recovery from her recent operation
[she was spaded]
and therefore was not available to be adopted
I said I was still interested in adopting her and asked if they had an idea when she would be available
they said no
I asked could someone call me and let me know when she is better
they said no
I asked if I could call them in a couple of days to check on her status
they said no
I asked what they suggested
they shrugged and said you can come back every couple of days and see if she is back in the adoption area
now
it is just me or would you think that if you worked at a pet adoption center
and you had someone wanting to adopt a cat (i.e. a pet)
you might find a way to be slightly more accommodating?
so apparently I can list "Cat Pimp" among the list of attempted and failed professions

one would hope they would be just a little bit more reasonable
