all is well in the house of usher

[plural]

my parents arrived tonight
father and I shared a heated debate
on issues of perspective and social consequences
and several glasses of well aged scotch

it is good to see them
especially considering it is the first time
I have this year

we went to hear a speaker
present a case against going to war with iraq
[extra credit for one of my classes]
and while I did not agree with everything he said
it was definitely the most coherent argument
I have heard to date from either side

much to think about
which is a goodness

I have a beautiful and affectionate bitch
staying at my place
for the next several days

her name is lulu
and she is an adorable english bulldog

I am off to bed
as I have plans to meet the parents
for breakfast in the morning
