Ok
I need your help
Please please fill out the poll
[even if you don't read the entry]

so recently I have been experiencing many things
for practically the first time

meaning things I haven't done is so long
I cant remember the last time I did them

What prompted this was cleaning the toilets in my apartment
and realizing that I probably had not cleaned a toilet in ten years
[unless you count flushing it an extra time or two]

Now I know how to clean a toilet
it is not like it is technically difficult
but I have had a maid for many years
and she handled all those sorts of things

the only things I have cleaned in ages
are
my bathroom sink
[see previous mention of OC behavior]
and
the kitchen
because as someone who loves to cook
my kitchen must always be spotless

What I don't know
is the frequency when you are supposed to do such things
or methods to determine when something needs to be done

so I have composed this handy little poll
to find out your housekeeping habits
that I can determine how to keep my home in Tip Top shape

You have my sincerest gratitude in advance for your time
[yes these are actually serious questions]

du·vet n.

A quilt, usually with a washable cover, that may be used in place of a bedspread and top sheet.

:D

not an expert on such things
so my definition might not be
completely accurate
but
basically
It is a comforter which
does not have a pattern
which is meant to be covered
with a cover(the duvet cover)

it saves on wear and tear of the comforter
and allows you to change the design
without buying a new comforter
just a new cover

Some of these involve further explanation. If you're interested.

The litter box. I've got two cats. I scoop it out and refresh the litter at least twice a day. But, I only empty it out and start over from scratch with an entirely new batch of litter once a week.

Bathroom - I only get on hy hands and knees and *scrub* the place once a week. But I wipe out the sink, sweep up the floor and wipe down the shower just about daily.

I don't have a duvet cover, since it is still summer I just sleep with a light blanket. But I will have a duvet cover this winter. I imagine that I'll wash it bi-monthly.

A bit of an explanation......

Bathroom, vacuuming, windows, dusting is almost always done by the housekeeper that comes weekly.

Litter box, it's my sons cat, he takes care of its' shit

Bed linens, more in the summer. Actually when I'm trolling for sex. Wife seems to like fresh sheets to get down and dirty.

Fridge....when I can't find an empty container for the leftovers (because they are all in use growing experiments)

Nearly everything can be thrown into the "when it needs it" category. I don't have a strict regime for doing things.

And I don't own a duvet, either. Fancy-pants.

Hmm...

If you actually had a llama, depending on how horrendous a state your house is in, I'd probably clean it for you just so I could say, "So there was this one time when a guy from LiveJournal wanted someone to clean his house or something like that... and he had this llama named _____... so I thought, well, you know, I should totally clean his house a bit just so I could say I cleaned the house of someone who had a llama."

(Sidenote: It's weird, but I really love to do laundry for some reason... And cleaning my own house isn't all that fun... but cleaning someone else's doesn't bother me at all. I wonder why. Maybe it's some weird housewife-of-the-50's complex I have. Hmm...)
