The Mailbox Bomber ... or talking out of my ass

his recent post reminded me that I wanted to find out more
about the individual and the circumstances
and he was even kind enough to provide This handy link

Let me begin by saying there are
few things more terrifying than a nutjob
who
stumbles on a small bit of truth
and
think mistakenly that he understands it

You see he is right about one thing

People operate based on fear
and governments and companies
use that fear to control us
to make us conform

now all that other smack
about the truth about death
and
dismissing people
is really whacked

he is another of those
salvation killers

who kills people so they can see
the light of truth and be saved

he thrives on creating involuntary martyrs
and views himself as one
he has no choice as he is just the messenger
people who he believes he is helping
but it is only a justification
which allows him to kill

that and his belief
[which is correct]
that by killing people
he will bring attention to his cause

chances are he was raised in
a strict and very religious family
[most likely christian]
he backlashed by rebelling
probably running away from home
at a relatively young age

found comfort in new age ideas
and in finding so called enlightenment.

as much as he believes he has found this
enlightened state, and wishes that he could just wake up
the rest of us,
he cant shake the core religious beliefs
that he was raised with
they lie in his subconcious forcing him
to justify and provide positive rational for his actions

the most obvious one
is that murder is wrong
he justifies it because he isnt killing
death is not an end, but a way to enlightenment

secondly he has a martyr complex
he views those he kills and himself
as martyrs to some holy cause
again a justification for his actions

he honestly believes
he is killing these people
because he cares about them
because by killing them he is saving them


Future telling time now boys and girls

This will end in one of two ways
either he will make a big enough mistake
that allows the government to catch him
as he wants to be caught

or

he will continue sending his little messages
for a few weeks, maybe months
but I dont think he has the patience and stamina to go that long
it has taken him some time
to get the strength of conviction to do what he has done
and he just wants to get his message out and help people
as soon as he has created enough media attention
he will turn himself in, probably to a reporter.

Tragically, when the reality that his message was only an excuse to kill* he/she'll get frustrated and really start the body count moving.



*Somehow I doubt the completness of this statement will ever fully gel, but it's symptom: the acts lack the amount of satisfaction that was the spark for his motivation most certainly will.

but i think killing
is secondary

his overriding goal is
guided by his misconception
that he is a warrior for good
that if only he can get his message out
then
the people will be saved

I suppose, but I have serious problems getting my head around someone who could manifest such a non-God driven solution...

I think if you were to ask him, that would be his reply, but the reality is he just wants to kill people... I think this is true of the Unibomber as well... his 'message' was only the means to an end he had no consious awareness of.

so basically your view is that it is likely that he is borderline sociopathic he wants to kill people but cant bring himself to do so without justification. so he creates a mythos which allows him to save people and help them by killing them? I suppose I could by it
