first night in lima

had a blast
mostly anyway

hooked up with a friend who lives here
and joined his wifes company bowling team
for the informal Advertising Companies National Championships
or something

lots of free booze and
enjoyable bowling

resisted the temptation
yet again to steal the bowling shoes

then we went around
checking out nightclubs

i got home around two
and decided that i wasn't tired
and would go play in the casino

had probably the worst night
of black jack in my life

the funny thing though
is i came out almost a franklin ahead
not a great night but
profit is profit

i was unsatisfied with both my cards
(what a surprise there)
and my playing skill

that's what i get for playing half drunk
and
mostly distracted

after a while
i finally got bored of blackjack
cashed in my chips
and on impulse
as i had never bothered to play
a slots game before
(i like to pretend that there is skill involved)
( in gambling ok)
i took my winnings for the night
and blew them all on slots

was interesting of course
it probably would have gone better
if i could understand the instructions
and had a clue what the buttons i was
pushing did

(i figured out two of them)
(one spun the wheels)
(and the other well shit)
(maybe i didn't figure out what that button did after all)

but it was vaguely entertaining
and considering i came out even
in the end
i have no complaints

what i really wanted to play was
baccarat
that's my preferred way to lose money
in a casino
(even though i tend to break even more often)
but
the table was empty

ah well
off to bed for me
i have a lunch meeting in the afternoon
and
need my beauty sleep
or something like that anyway

off to the beach

i have been invited
to a beach party about an hour
outside of lima

i should be back tomorrow night
if not
then my head is probably
in a duffel bag somewhere

cross your fingers
and hope that
it is a gucci

on men and women

had a fascinating discussion
on men women and interrelations between the sexes

still have a little
to sort out
but as i am heading off
for a bacchanalian event
i don't want to leave my revelations
in
some empty bottle or another

so

[meaning it may well be full of holes and complete bullshit or both]
i shall proceed
