slavery is really as bad
as we have made it out to be

pre or post civil war

people should realize that is only the American form of slavery.
it is very different from the slavery practiced in just about
every other part of the world

for one thing, it was racially based.
meaning only blacks were slaves
where as in the rest of the world
anyone could be a slave
it was either commercial
or conquest based
meaning either you were poor
and sold your ass to feed your family/pay your debts
or
you were taken prisoner in war
so they made you a slave
to keep you out of trouble
for a while
and cause
it made for cheap labor

additionally the children of slaves were born slaves
this had been the case in other cultures
but often times the child of a slave was
not a slave, or at least not past their majority.

in some cultures you had to let a slave go free
when you had owned them for
seven years
in fact you were not allow to let them stay
if they wanted to.

although
I have to admit,
I prefer indentured servitude over slavery
its pretty neat actually

in most parts of the world
you can
tell the wealth of a person
by the amount of fat
rolling around their gut

but in America
not only are we obese as a nation
but the poor are fat
and the rich
who can afford personal trainers are thin
