(no subject)

I am planning to go to Whistler with a bunch of my friends
for Thanksgiving (my parents decided to do the romantic couple thing in the Bahamas this year)
so no family event anyway
Originally the idea was
a bunch of guys
four days of great skiing

now the idea has blossomed I guess
a guy is bringing his GF
which is fine
even though I don't much care for her
she has one of the little dogs
that she carries in a purse like bag everywhere
and is a strict devotee of Chanel anything
she is shallow and annoying to me

Then today it gets passed along
that she wants us to uninvite
another friend of ours
who happens to be her cousin as well
because there is some tension between them

Quite frankly I don't like her

But more than anything else
the drama just annoys me
the other organizer of the trip
was relating this crap to me

I just said this
they are both welcome
and I am not going to exclude either regardless of my disposition
but they had better both agree to leave the drama behind

if I have to waste skiing time
to mediate some inane BS
I am going to be very unhappy

I think I will make sure to bring
an ample supply of duct tape
worse comes to worse
I can just bind an gag em both
throw them in a closet
and hit the slopes

Rain

Mmm
I love the rain
guess it is no surprise being that I grew up mostly in Seattle

I have a deck off my dining room, theres one off the entertainment room in the back
but I don't use it much, I have one of those retractable awnings that covers the deck
I like to sit out under in the rain
and relax

drink some wine
smoke a cigar
left my thoughts flow
perhaps even read a book

It smells so good
I just built a cedar picket fence
it will eventually be a "white picket fence"
although not of the usual style
it is common on parts of cape cod and the islands
the smell of wet cedar permeates the air

hmm
I should probably get to bed
I need to resync my sleep schedule
as if I actually get enough sleep to call it that
to normalcy
I have been staying up till dawn
and going to sleep then

time to return to the old ways
in bed by midnight
staring at the ceiling until 5 or 6am
grabbing two hours of sleep
and heading off to work

but for now
I think
I will just sit here
a little while longer
and let the pattering of raindrops
whisper to me

Life made interesting

My car was accidentally stolen this morning

I suppose this statistically has to happen every so often
and of course, if its going to happen, it will happen to me...

About 10 minutes ago
my doorbell rang

this may not seem like a strange occurrence
but you have to realize
that since I have moved into this house
it has rang maybe 4 times
my friends knock
strangers ring the bell

so being that I was lounging as I usually do
mostly naked around my house

I threw on my robe and went to the door

a man was standing there
he was a working class man
but clean and presentable
but definitely no-one I knew

We exchanged good mornings
and he was acting slightly bashful
I was expecting a solicitation of some sort
but the first words out of his mouth
where

"I stole your car for about an hour"

I was perplexed as you might imagine

then he proceeded to tell me the story
apparently, he had been asked to pick up his sisters car
a similar Honda civic to mine
he came down, walked up to the first car matching
the description he was given "old Honda civic"
unlocked it, started it and drove away
he reached his destination
and his sister
who promptly informed him
that is was not her car..

Nice enough fellow
even put 5 bucks in the gas tank

prolly should get the locks changed eh?

Side Note

For those of you who expressed such concern
I have kept an eye on my kitties
and the half pound of habeneros
didn't seem to phase them a bit
