I slept a magnificent 10 hours today
well actually it was two 5 hours rests but glorius just the same.

I always sleep better in the day time but rarely am afforded the opportunity

besides thanks to some imp, I was up far later than my intended time of attempted sleep.

it has been along time, since I have slept like that without the aid of drugs or alcohol.

on occasion, things come together like this for me, and I sleep well.

of course my cats glaring at me when I awoke, threatening to violate me in unspeakable ways should I even attempt to move

had something to do with it.

and to that imp, who exhausted me and made me laugh

an old
rather dilapidated house

it was once
and still was
to those who could see it
a beautiful house

I imagined
standing beneath
the turreted windows
singing a ballad
to a woman
lounging
on feather pillows
in a window nook
looking down at me

I want to buy it
to lovingly restore it
with my own hands
but I have neither
the skill nor
the affluence

I like old things
beautiful things
ugly things
anything made
with pride
with love

even our goods
have become empty

I collect
antique jewelry
broaches
rings
necklaces
whatever
things made
which bare the impression
of their maker

things we buy today
only last as long as our expectation
or more accurately
as long as our faith
