damn fine day
Apr. 16th, 2002 08:26 pmspent the day
playing mr jones
in the ruins of
machu pichu
note to self
before attempting
some fancy moves
to explore someplace
one shouldnt
make sure that
you have a way
to get out
(i only got stuck)
(twice)
any way
the ruins are amazing
spectacular even
took a whole bunch of pictures
a few of which may
actually be decent
one never knows
definately recommend
checking it out
before you are old
and frail
spent the evening
soaking in
a natural hot spring
and
damn i am
relaxed now
although
i still havent completely
cured that mischevious bug
i nutured today
think i may have to lock
myself in my hotel room
till the morning
when i go back
somehow i have a feeling
that
getting arrested
in this lil burg
would make
deliverance
seem like
hot apple pie
and ice cream
on a sweet sunday afternoon
oh and a side note
i wanted to clarify
that those recieving a
postcard
may not neccesarily be
receiving a legible one
as
my handwriting is
absolutely abysmal

Re:
Date: 2002-04-19 12:09 am (UTC)the name but
i remember the
translation
the mountain you climbed
was called
young mountain
[machu picchu means old mountain]
it is a beautiful view
from up there
unfortunately
i had precious little time
at that height
as only barely started my journey
before they closed the trail
for the day
and
was urged to be
quick
[i doubt they would have]
[let me up if i hadnt]
[my own light in case]
[i tarried too long]
the ruins enchanted me
running my fingers along
perfectly jointed stone
slick as if still wet
by the blood which
purchased their construction
have to admit
i did little nightclubbing
outside of lima
where i visited a friend
and
the highlight
was definately
time spent at the beach
rather
than in the club
however i have
greatly enjoyed
my nights out
here in chile

Date: 2002-04-25 10:10 pm (UTC)as i am like this, and i randomly continue conversations
it was cuzco, where i played my night clubbing games. walking around, alone or with few companions late at night, in those lovely cobblestone streets, where houses of (worship) had been converted into something quite (else). something a bit shocking, i did not enjoy the music, as i am highly specialized about music anyway, but the ambiance was...stunning. as was the sense that in our world
we are always alien.

Date: 2002-04-27 12:14 am (UTC)are often amused
by that same trait
and even occasionally confused
as
i will pick up
an interupted conversation
hours
or even days later
and yes
i too felt something
unique in those cobblestone streets
reality blended with
an unknown and mysterious history
hands glide
over smoothed stone
where so much blood
and joy has run
historical places
always reach me
a sense of wonderment
a connection to the past
