an old
rather dilapidated house
it was once
and still was
to those who could see it
a beautiful house
I imagined
standing beneath
the turreted windows
singing a ballad
to a woman
lounging
on feather pillows
in a window nook
looking down at me
I want to buy it
to lovingly restore it
with my own hands
but I have neither
the skill nor
the affluence
I like old things
beautiful things
ugly things
anything made
with pride
with love
even our goods
have become empty
I collect
antique jewelry
broaches
rings
necklaces
whatever
things made
which bare the impression
of their maker
things we buy today
only last as long as our expectation
or more accurately
as long as our faith

firstly it wasnt for sale
although everything is in the end available.
Secondly I have a house that I am living in and not quite wealthy enough for two houses yet
