strange and incoherent pondering

On past lives:

I cant say
I really believe in
reincarnation

its a nice thought
but God really hasn't
proven he has that
refined a sense of humor

irony he has plenty
but reincarnation requires
an acute sense of
humor
in my opinion
irony is not enough.

but anyway

I heard mentioned today
a belief that some people
often mention, often half seriously
of something to the effect of.

[we must have known each other]
[in a past life, which is why we met now]

my question
is
if meeting in one life
requires having known
each other in a previous life

when did
everyone meet
the first time around?

was there some big
cosmic shindig?
and
how come
I
wasn't invited?
