Yep. There are other versions....
...but there aren't.

Chandler is my favorite author, and Bogart's Marlowe fits the time better than any of the other movies. Though of course the movie was edited a lot more than the book. But, then, that's very 40s, too.

of course
I get sad every time I watch it now
cause
my first car
was just like that
lil red convertible
except mine was black
with white leather seats
spent damn near a year
restoring it
and
someone
(I dont like to speak poorly of the dead)
totalled it a year
later
*grin*

thought you would
appreciate a few of those
that
is one of my favorites
although
I wonder
what is it about bogart movies
that
prompts rampant misquoting?

any ideas?

'rampant misquoting'?

I have no idea what you are talking about.

I'm not sure why I prefer that bogart movie over the other's you've mentioned...

I think my fave bogart/bacall is 'to have and have not' bacall is the absolute most.

what about 'the treasure of the sierra madre'?

[identity profile] hellarad.livejournal.com 2001-04-17 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
mmmm
yes those two are on my list
as well

rampant misquoting well

I was referring to
"play it again sam"
misquote from casablanca and
"if you need me just whistle"
from key largo
to name two

perhaps that isnt rampant
but rather pervasive atleast

p

oops

do you remember the drunk's joke from to have and have not?

wasn't it something like, "have you ever been bit by a dead bee?"

[identity profile] mnemosyne.livejournal.com 2001-04-17 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
