I often wonder
about the link between
expectations and disappointment

I rarely expect
and therefore
am rarely disappointed

but sometimes
it is good to expect
for it do not expect
you will never receive

I always
have expectations
of myself

usually pretty high ones

like most people
I don't give myself
one-tenth the slack
I give other people

but really
what I am wondering
