General Insanity or a tale for Capricious

[plural]

Several years ago
I was also working at
Microsoft
the first time
or maybe the second
I cant remember
besides it isn't important
anyway

I was working
in a lab by myself
a lab appropriately
named
"PCP Lab"

the day was not
going well
very stressful
perhaps too much so

I reached for
my soda
and it scooted down
the table moving away from me

I blinked
and
again I reached out
and again it moved

I blinked yet again

"this is not happening to me"
flashed through my mind

"No can of pop is
getting the best of me"

I leapt up from my chair
and
with
a
barbaric yaulp
charged forward
securing my beverage of choice

draining its life
until empty
I viciously crush it shell
and
slam its corpse
in to the recycle bin

after quenching my thirst

I reflected upon
this challenge to
my authority
and determined
that this episode
would be
best kept
to
myself

I returned to my
daily toil
and
as my
violent
response
had cowed the
remainder of sodas
I experienced no further
difficulties

"when aluminum cans challenge your authority... that's pretty shameful"

I worked quitely in that shame
for several hours
got in my car and
drove home

upon arriving there
I was greeted by
the cheerful face
of the woman I lived with
who promptly enquired

"Did you feel the earthquake today?"
