Ode to bargirls
Nov. 27th, 2005 03:20 amThe lovely lasses who work my college bar
are quite dear to me
so
I wrote them a little poem
to express my affections
[which is now mounted behind the bar]
[as I presented it to them this eve]
and which I will share with you now
The woman I love has many faces
many names and many graces
yet I am not in the least confused
as in one hearth doth reside my muse
Her hair comes in all shapes and colors
wavy, straight, curly, and the others
Her eyes are not blue, nor green, nor brown
yet all of these in my love are found
In figure and form let me be direct
whatever your pleasure, she possess it in spades
but it is her wit, charm and intellect
that shall keep me when I reside in Hades
Why I love her, the answer is succinct
and this I give without dawdle or tarry
it is she that serves me my drink
thus makes me content, even merry
are quite dear to me
so
I wrote them a little poem
to express my affections
[which is now mounted behind the bar]
[as I presented it to them this eve]
and which I will share with you now
The woman I love has many faces
many names and many graces
