Apr. 24th, 2004 09:29 pmI spent the morning cleaning house
inventorying the kitchen
decided to make a soup
not sure what to call it
started boiling a big pot of water
to that I added
one dried chili pepper
two dried lady finger peppers
two dried ring of fire peppers
four dried morel mushroom
and a few dried porcini mushroom
two frozen chicken leg quarters
let all of that boil
while I chopped and sauteed
garlic
onion
ginger
red, yellow and orange bell pepper a piece
jalapeno peppers
snow peas
portabella mushrooms
shitake mushrooms
white button mushrooms
bean sprouts

then I took out the chicken
shredded it into bite size pieces
separated about two cups of broth
then added the chicken and the veggies
to the remaining broth
added flour to broth I set aside
to thicken it up
mixed it in with the soup
and then added milk
brought it back up to a boil
added
cayenne pepper
salt and pepper
soy sauce
paprika
turmeric
let it all simmer for about five minutes
put it into containers
for the fridge or freezer
then I hit the gym
with the redhead
[who informed me]
[she will be moving on Wednesday]
had a great workout
went by walmart
and picked up a spring form pan
as mine seems to have disappeared
and I want to try my hand
at cheesecakes this week
a few new pyrex dishes
and a pair of salt and pepper grinders
stopped by the grocery store
for some frying veggies
for the veggie tempura
I was gonna try making tonight
got home
sliced up some veggies
mixed up some tempura batter
dipped and friend the veggies
mmm
it was tasty

tomorrow
I am going make jalapeno poppers
from scratch for the first time
of course
being the divinely talented man
that I am
I am sure they will be spectacular
and now
I am going to hop in the shower
and go pick up the redhead
for her last Saturday night in town
should be
goodclean fun
