Pain is Good
Apr. 15th, 2004 01:40 ammy muscles are sore [yes all of them]
I decided the other day
to up my workout schedule
from two to three days a week
to six
and I have started running
only 2 miles a day at the moment
and taking it easy at 12 minute miles
but considering
I used to despise running
entirely
I am fairly happy with the change
my shoulders finally seem to have healed completely
which means I can start working my upper body harder
until recently due to repetitive dislocations and separations of my shoulders
I have been pretty much confined to minimal weight to avoid strain
but the past couple of weeks
I have been slowing upping the average weight of my sets
and I can feel the difference
in the strength of my shoulders
but I am still taking it fairly easy
building up to my old weight sets slowly
cause re-injuring myself would really suck
and blow my motivation to hell and back
generally I feel great
I popped on the scale today
and weighed in at 192 pounds
which is not only the lightest I have been
in about four or five years
but three pounds under my ideal weight
I had peaked at about 240 a few years back
but the last year or two been running about 210-215
so dropping twenty pounds
is pretty nice
while I am focusing on condition and toning
not specifically concerned with the weight numbers
it feels pretty good
I have always been fairly lucky in that
my body shows the results of working out
very quickly
the redhead was quite jealous
as she could see significant changes
in just the first two weeks we were working out together
I expect I will probably drop to about 180
in the next month
then start climbing back up
as my upper body redevelops its strength
balancing out about 190
buff and sexy for the summer season
mmm mmm
it is good to be the king
