pluralI have been neglectful
with regard to providing the answer
to my most recent poll
to recap your opinions
42.9% of you chose lust
14.2% of you chose patience
21.4% of you chose charity
21.4% of you chose devotion
no real surprises there
where I was amused
was the second question
where a whopping 78.6% of you
felt that the anecdote was used
to illustrate a positive behavior
while I am flattered that you think so highly
I cannot imagine an anecdote about lust from my life
that a christian preacher would share with their flock
from the positive perspective.

The anecdote was in fact positive however
but the subject was charity
an illustration about volunteerism to be specific
something I am a big fan of
even though it ruined my grand plan
by making me question the value of
what I was doing in life and decide
to take a different path
of course, I could not be happier
for such ruination to occur
on a separate note
as I spent the day
working on a variety of projects
and pondering the events
of last night
one thing stood out to me
she asked [several times] if I was real
as in not a figment of her imagination
my reply was simply a kiss
which seemed to satisfy the question
but
what bothers me or
perhaps not bothers but interests me
as in I do not completely understand it
it that this has been a common thread
among many of the women I have slept with
the questioning of my existence that is
while my ego allows me many thoughts of
greatness and superiority
it does not extend to the belief
that I am unique
mathematically
there are far too many humans
for that to be a supportable assumption
is the state of men in the world
so gravely in disrepair
are we truly a dying breed
this begs a greater question
of our society as a whole
has the idea of principle
gone entirely to the wayside
to one of convenience
funny thing about principles
I do not care what yours are
just that you have them
principles are often misthought of
as differentiation between right and wrong
this is incorrect
principles are matters of self discipline
whether you form your own principles
or inherit those of others
they are lines in the sand
which convenience and desire
can not cause you to cross
the difference between a man and a boy,
is principles
the choice to limit one's world
by defining ones beliefs
and adhering to them
whatever they may be
ah, and now
I must leave you
my dryer calls
I have to rewire it
to meet the new fire code
and then install it
so I can do some laundry
be well my loves
and
take a moment
to
think about defining your principles
