About Last Night ... or ... When it rains, It pours

Went out to my usual sunday night band
but it was dead
and the owner was causing drama
I was going to call it an early night
but a good friend of mine
[who works at the bar]
got off early and invited me out
we went out to see his brother
[who works at another bar]
but it was dead as well

called some friends to see what they were up to
and
decided we were not particularly interested in meeting them at a strip bar
so
I suggested Sky Bar
which on sundays is gay night

not a problem for me
but my friend
while not homophobic exactly
isnt entirely comfortable with the gay culture
[he has no problems with gay people]
[and gets along with our gay friends well]
[think it is just more of a sheltered thing]
[not to mention people arent exactly raised]
[to be open minded about such things in these parts]

I explained to him
that gay bars are the easiest place
to pick up straight women
besides I knew some girls that were down there
so we would have a good crew to hang with

no sooner than we had parked
and the girls called to tell me they had left
great timing eh

anyway we go in there
I do my normal circle of the place
looking for friends
stop off at the back bar to grab a drink

my drink is already waiting for me
and the bartender
[who is a friend and the manager]
[of this club and another]
grabs a drink for my friend
and waves away my attempt to pay

I spend a minute checking in with him
seeing how he has been
take three steps from the bar
when I am mauled and assaulted
by a fine lil blonde honey
[of course I still didnt spill my drink]
I turn around to look in the mirror
at whoever is on my back

to find that it is a good friend of mine
we schmooze
I nod my head rapidly
in time with her boisterous babblings
I introduce her to my boy
we talk about who is around
do a little dancing
it is all good

this particular girl
I have mentioned her a few times in here
and I
while having no interest in each other
make the most ungodly and sexual comments to each other
and it was amusing
to watch my friends face
as he watched our exchange

I went for another drink
coming back another girl barged past me
in a flurry of excitment
[this time spilling my drink]
one of her friends ran over to apologize to me
it was no big deal
and I told her so
I introduced myself
and took her out of the dance floor
we danced for a few songs
it was fun but nothing spectacular

introduced her and her friends to my boy
and went off to check out another area of the club

my lil blondie
caught up with me
and dragged me back to the floor
and this time
we actually had some dancing room
so it was swing time
she took ballet and other forms of dance
for several years
so even though I only taught her
how to swing recently
she can do the double time swing
which fits the music better
[not to mention understands form and shape]
[so I can lead her to do things without having to explain them first]

It was good fun and a proper scene
as we had quite a few people watching us
*grin*

ran into some other friends
had a few more drinks
good quality time with friends

danced one last dance
with a cute girl
taught her some swing moves
and she was grinning from ear to ear
so
I figured I would end the night on a up note
smiled
winked
dahlin, this has been a pleasure
have a wonderful night
two cheek kisses
in the italian style
and
I was off

stopped by the first bar
[also known as home away from home]
on the way home
had an after hours drink
had something of a serious conversation with the owner
he had kind of pissed me off over the past few days
and I decided it was time to call him on it
to my surprise
he actually handled it like a mensch
apologized sincerely
and it was a good thing

took big man home
he was feeling a little woozy by this time
[he doesnt have the liver for that sort of drinking]
got a call from a good friend of mine
went and picked em up
dropped by my house
watched "the bourne identity"
and passed out of the couch
about halfway through

now I am gonna spend some quality time
with a broom, mop, and laundry apparatus
get the house clean
and some laundry done

it will be a good thing

and then onto tonights excitement
as it is our weekly bowling night

wait

did I just say weekly bowling night
in a "i'm looking forward to it" manner
