Oct. 24th, 2000 10:19 pmHows that working out for you?
What?
Being Clever?
Great...
Well keep it up then...
Finally talked with my mother today
we talked for like an hour
it was good
been trying to get ahold of her
for a couple of months
but she has been traveling and
apparently her cell phone charger died.
I told her about my new job
she asked why I quit the old one
she asked how much I was making
in salary that is
I told her
she was surprised
of course it is only 10%
more than my last job
but I guess she didn't remember it
My mother was always a bit strange
she never could remember
what foods I like
My favorite thing she made
was cream of mushroom soup
it took her 19 years to figure this out
even with me telling her that every time
But for some reason she was always
serving me things with nuts
I don't eat nuts
not any of them
never have...
of course
on the other hand
she did promise
to hook me up
with this guy
who grows the best
pot
this boy has ever smoked
so I guess
I shouldn't hold
too much against her

more mommies
Date: 2000-10-25 07:26 am (UTC)yup
my mom was (is) always trying to tell ME what I like or don't like! Food-wise especially. She has four kids and constantly mixes up who liked what, but she doesn't believe us when we correct her! THAT slays me! It's not ultra-important that she recall my craving for Grandma's potato soup, but this strange quality of denial overflows to things such as, "Yes I did. I TOLD you that your brother moved to Kentucky, married white trash and has a chicken for a pet". Yeah mom, you told me that and I don't REMEMBER??! uh huh.
I completely expect one day to call my mother to chat and find out someone important has died...you know, like my DAD or my GRANDMA.
Of course, she will say that she already told me.
uh huh.
