Firstly I didn't say
everything a corporation does
is Kosher, what I said was
Corporations are created to
create profit, and their actions
should rightfully be geared to
realizing that profit.

Corporations
are not
living entities
a corporation
can not do anything
the people with in it
can do lots of things

including break laws and act
unethically for their
own personal gain

sure it may incidentally help
the corporation, but the primary
motivation is to benefit the individual

For example

You are an executive of a chemical company
your job is to produce 100,000 barrels of XYZ product
a month for the lowest price possible.

Now you have a waste bill for
disposing of chemical byproducts
which costs you 350k a month.
If you dump the chemicals illegally
you can cut your bottom line by 4%.
Now you the more you are able to
minimize costs and improve productivity,
the bigger your bonuses are,
and the more likely you are to be promoted.
So the unethical, greedy and in the scope of things
fucking stupid exec, takes the easy
cut and lowers costs.

This gets him
800k in bonuses and
a promotion to Group VP

but this does not help
the company, in the short term
they think they have been helped
because their product costs less to produce.

what the executive has done for the
company in truth, is yanked down
the companies pants and put a sign
on its back saying
"fuck me please"
and it is just a matter of time
before someone does.

It is rarely profitable for a
major corporation to violate the law.

The amount of money you have to save
weighed against
fines,
restitution,
punitive damages
lost public goodwill

it takes an obscene amount of savings
and a significant number of years to
amortize those costs and have it be
profitable overall.

Where corporations fuck you
is not by breaking the law
but by either

a) changing the law to make what they
want to do legal or

b) getting a special exception to do it anyway or

c) getting Joe Taxpayer to pay for them to comply with the law.

(the last is absolutely brilliant imho)

As for people
checking their humanity
when the go into the office?
