Well, I think you need an A in there, but as it stands:
Woman, without her man, is nothing.

"proceed to apply whatever punctuation
you believe is necessary to
the following sentence.."

he did not say it needed to remain one sentence.

When he said "the following sentance" he indicated that the modifications were to be to the one sentance. By splitting it into two sentances, you are no longer adding punctuation to that sentance. You are instead adding punctuation to two seperate sentances.

Of course not.
But we've all bitten, so we might as well have fun with it :D

The modifications I made were to that one sentence.
He said "apply whatever punctuation
you believe is necessary", which I did.
The fact that the punctuations made two sentences from what once was one sentence, is irrelevant.

Picking nits

Except you had to seperate them into two sentances before you could add the punctuation. Putting an end capping punctuation mark in the middle of a sentance doesn't make a new sentance, it just makes it wrong :D
Forgive me if I'm getting on your nerves though. If you care to respond again, I'll not argue.

You know, I have this terrible feeling that all 23 of the people who've gone before me have gone the riot grrrl, politically correct route and written: "Woman; without her, man is nothing."

Shit.

Well, how about this:

"Woman. Without her, man, is nothing."

There, that'll stand out from the crowd.
