Dreams and other Hallucinations...
Sep. 21st, 2000 05:33 pmI started on this tangent in a response to a post by Supersmash and as I rarely like to place novellas in others journals decided to leave my comments there and take my analysis home to my own Journal
Dreams
My dreams are generally very surrealistic, and very vivid.
A weird thing I have noticed about the dreams I remember is they tend to be repetitive or looping, where I will go through several almost indentical situations react differently and experience different results and move on.
The experience is best relayed as if one could watch a movie, only when something happened in the movie that one didnt like, one could rewind and watch the scene unfold slightly differently until it was resolved in a way to ones liking.
Of course I usually wake up sweating and trying to determine exactly what it all means before I forget it.
I believe dreams are either your mind trying to alert you to something which you are repressing or ignoring, or your mind working its way through possible situations to better prepare yourself for such events in real life.
Regardless, it still makes for an odd and fascinating ride...
